 MINIMUM RADIAL CROSS SECTIONS
The following chart lists standard designs with their minimum radial cross sections
in inches and millimeters. Designs with radial cross sections below these minimums
will not be effective. As is shown in the chart, the minimum differs for each design.
Please note the styles with minimums marked by asterisks (*). These are designs
for which the spring-loaded versions can be made with especially small cross
sections because the seal lip, together with the spring, extends beyond the case.
This allows the spring sufficient space in which to move when the shaft is installed
through the lip, which then deflects the spring outward.
